The Blessings of Being a Family's Photographer

Over a decade ago, Izabela called me in search of someone who would be her family's photographer, the person who would document her and her boys through their adventures together.  She had been to other photographers before, but she was looking for someone who would truly understand her family and create portraits to reflect the personalities and the relationships with authenticity and heart.

It turns out, I am the family photographer for many of my clients.  But it was Izabela - who values photography as both art and time capsule - who came to me with such clarity and purpose around her intention of choosing the person who would fill that role. 

It has been such a gift to be Izabela's family photographer.  She is a total inspiration:  one of the most fiercely passionate women and mothers I have ever known and a consummate protector.  Izabela loves her boys without limits and the portraits we have created together show them – and everyone who enters their home – who comes first in her life.

It has been such an honor to be Izabela's family photographer for more than ten years.  It is not only a gift but an enormous privilege to be invited into the most intimate moments with a family to capture ages and stages, transitions and changes, and the incredible evolution of children as they grow and mature. To date, Izabela and I have collaborated on three portrait sessions to celebrate distinct milestones and moments in her incredible family's journey, recording different chapters in their beautiful story. And through it all, we have developed a friendship that I treasure dearly. Perhaps this is the greatest blessing of all.
